About CS Irwin
Over the duration of the 2009/2010 winter (December 1 through April 30), CS Irwin received over 525 inches of snow beating every ski resort in the state by 90+ inches. Our terrain spans over 1,000 acres of private property and the Gunnison National Forest. The season started off strong in December receiving over 122 inches of snow and by December 21st all of our backcountry terrain was open. February was phenomenal by producing waist deep "cold smoke" powder precipitation 24 out of its 28 days. One week in particular pounded us with over 90 inches generating an endless supply of fresh tracks. March and April continued to bring us alternately sunny skies and reliable storms, ending our season on April 30th with a 24-inch powder day! Whether you are a beginner in the backcountry or an experienced rider we can accommodate you, all while ensuring that you don't ski the same run twice. Truly Unique Unlike any other snow cat or heli-skiing operation our guests have the luxury of being picked up and returned to the town of their accommodations, Crested Butte by our elite Tucker snow cat every night to enjoy the town's night life, 20+ restaurants and all the amenities that Crested Butte has to offer. This unique, all-inclusive service can make CS Irwin part of a well-rounded vacation to the Gunnison valley, full of variety. Even though CS Irwin is only approximately 12 miles from the town it is completely private, only allowing 10 guests to ski our private terrain each day.
