Hope in Action MN is a volunteer Mental Health Awareness & Advocacy, Suicide Prevention Group formed in 2013 to honor the memory of Travis Blain Ellenson. Their mission is simple:
“Raise awareness and provide support for families affected by mental illness, specifically those affected by suicide, in our community”
In their first two years as an organization they have worked hard to vocalize and educate the community on the effects of mental health, advocacy, self-management, and signs & symptoms of mental illness. Their website provides a variety of tools and resources for those effected by mental illness. (View them here). Mental Illness affects nearly 1 in 5 Americans, it is important that those individuals know that they are not alone in their struggles.
You can help make a difference!
