City of Lakes Loppet Roller Rally
This is a non-competitive rollerski, bike or in-line skate. Start area is between Excelsior Boulevard and 36th off of Belt Line Boulevard. The event is the official kickoff of training for the 2010 Loppet and a fundraiser for the City of Lakes Nordic Ski Foundation.
Loppet Ski Club - Introductory: November - Loppet
The Loppet Ski Club - Introductory meets Monday evenings from 6:30 - 8 p.m. and Sunday afternoons from 1 - 3 p.m. at the Theodore Wirth Chalet in Wirth Park. Participants ski the trails of Wirth Park in preparation for the City of Lakes Loppet. Starts November 4th and runs through the City of Lakes Loppet. Foundation Membership
The City of Lakes Nordic Ski Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that runs events, develops trails and works with Minneapolis youth on skiing and other outdoor activities like mountain biking, paddling and trail running. Support the Foundation by becoming a member. There are several levels of membership: basic (voting rights, discounts and newsletters), premium (voting rights, discounts, photo rights, discount stone grind and thermo-bag treatment, and newsletters) and business. Loppet Ski Club - Fall/Winter: September - February
The Loppet Ski Club - Fall/Winter is a more intensive ski club, focusing on improving technique and training. The group meets Wednesday evenings from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. in the fall and Sunday afternoons from 1 - 3 p.m. at the Theodore Wirth Chalet in Wirth Park. The Loppet Ski Club - Fall/Winter will meet with the other group, but will break off and focus on more advanced ski training. Runs from September 2nd through the end of February.
