Swim - 500 yards - out and back in Wall Lake.
Bike - 15 miles - (south) 7.5 miles out and back on rolling hills, black top road.
Run - 3.1 miles - an out & back course 1/2 on black top roads, 1/2 on gravel. Route is mostly flat with one gradual hill.
SWIM: 500 yards - starting from the beach, an out and back swim. Please mark arms and legs with participant numbers using a black marker. Chip must be on ankle using a Velcro strap during all phases of the event. We will institute a timed wave start.
In the event of heavy winds or waves, the event will go to a duathlon.
TRANSITION ONE (T1): SWIM TO BIKE: Bikes must be racked in the transition area according to your race number. Enter the transition area from the beach after the swim and exit by running your bike over the BIKE OUT timing mats prior to mounting your bike. YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO RIDE YOUR BIKE IN THE TRANSITION AREA. Swim-Bike Transition Time (T1) begins when you cross Swim Finish mat on beach when exiting water and ends when cross Bike Out mat exiting transition area
BIKE: 15 miles - South of Wall Lake, 7.5 miles out and back on rolling hills, black top road. The roads are not closed so watch for vehicles on the road. For your own safety, bike helmets are required. Bike In Transition Area will be the same location as Bike Out but will be divided by cones. Be sure to exit on the BIKE OUT side and enter on the BIKE IN side of the mats.
TRANSITION TWO (T2): BIKE TO RUN: Dismount bike upon entering the transition area and run your bike to your individual area. Place participant number BIB on front of shirt, shorts, or triathlon BIB belt. Bike-Run Transition Time (T2) begins when you cross Bike In mat at transition area and ends when cross Run Out mat exiting transition area on foot
RUN: 3.1 miles - an out & back course 1/2 on black top roads, 1/2 on gravel. Route is mostly flat with one gradual hill. Run time begins when crossing the RUN OUT timing mats and ends when you cross the finish line. Make sure the back up timers see your BIB number when crossing the finish line. Return your chip and strap at the end of the finish chute.

Timing chip - firmly strapped to ankle during entire event.
For safety purposes all participants must wear a helmet during the bike route. To ensure that athletes are safe/aware, head phones shall not be worn at any time during the event.
Participants must have their race number visible at all time to race officials. Bib numbers must be facing forward when crossing the finish line. Helmet number must be on the front of your helmet and bike numbers on the cross bar or under the seat with the number facing sideways. Body markings on both arms & legs, done near the registration table prior to the race.
TEAMS-can be 2 or 3 person, and can be all male, all female or co-ed. For TEAMS the timing chip must be transferred from one person to another during transitions IN the transition area.
Transition area is located in the upper parking lot. Vehicle parking is in the overflow eastern parking lot.
Overall Male and Female Winner will receive a $100.00 Scheels Gift Card and Plaque

Packet pick-up will be on Friday, June 16th, at SCHEELS ALL SPORT STORE at 41st and Western in Sioux Falls from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Please make every effort to make it to packet pick-up on Friday. There will be very limited race day packet pick-up at the race site between 6:30 and 7:30am on race day. Save yourself last minute hassle and come to Friday packet pick-up. Pre-race meeting at 7:50am. Map of Race Route will be available.
Only those that register before Friday, June 2nd will receive a race t-shirt.
