Drink, run, repeat. The Beer Mile comes to Northeast Minneapolis! This is a timed event following closely the official (or as official as they get) beer mile rules.
How It Works:
Drink a 12 oz can of beer, run a quarter mile. Drink a 12 oz can of beer, run a quarter mile. Drink a 12 oz can of beer, run a quarter mile. Drink a 12 oz can of beer, run a quarter mile.
Add it up and you have 4 cans of beer and a mile - that's a Beer MIle.
NEBA - the Northeast Minneapolis Business Association - invites everyone to come check out this new event and get to know the neighborhood.
NE Beer Mile start and finish are in Surdyk's parking lot. This is where the exchange zone (code for where you drink the beer) will be located. Participants drink their beer, exit the parking lot and head left on to Hennepin Avenue, then left on 4th Street, left again on 1st Avenue, left on University Avenue and enter Surdyk's parking lot from University to the exchange zone. Repeat 3 more times.
The field is limited to 300 participants.
The Beer Mile will be run in waves of 20 -25 runners each. Wave times start at 10:00 a.m. and the last wave will be at 3:25 p.m. Participants are asked to select their preferred wave start time during registration. A final schedule will be available at packet pick-up and all participants will also receive an emailed schedule so they can check their wave assignment.
PLEASE NOTE: Waves are filling up fast. Register soon to reserve your spot in your preferred wave.
